Race to End COVID: Talladega Superspeedway
The first Race to End COVID was held at Talladega Superspeedway in May 2021. Hundreds of participants came from as far away as Vermont to feel the rush of steering their own cars around the 33-degree banked turns of the iconic track — a special incentive for getting themselves vaccinated and tested for COVID-19.
With help from partners including NASCAR, the Alabama National Guard, the Alabama Department of Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), CDC Foundation, and the Increasing Community Access to Testing program of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, race fans got a once-in-a-lifetime driving experience and protected their health for the good of themselves and their friends, families and loved ones.
